Catholic Children's Society (Plymouth)

The Society supports children by providing grants and interest free loans to families in need, as well as offering parenting courses
 
In the past the assistance offered to children and their families has included:
 
·        Purchase of school uniform and other items that children need
·        Cost of travel to attend, school, work or medical appointments
·        Purchase of furniture, carpets, white goods etc
·        Provision of securing rents and deposits
·        Financial assistance towards the cost of family respite when the family has been in crisis
 
This list is by no means exhaustive and all grant applications are considered on their individual merit regardless of the parental situation, creed or colour of the family, the criteria being that:
 
·          the grant should benefit a child of 17 years or under
·          the benefiting child lives within the Diocese of Plymouth. The diocese covers the counties of Cornwall, Devon (including Torbay) and most of Dorset
