Riviera Team Midwives (Torquay)

The Riviera Midwifery Team is made up of 12 Midwives and 2 Maternity Care Assistants (MCA). The team provides 24 hour midwifery care for women who live in the Torquay area.

Their aim is to provide a high standard of midwifery care, focusing on each woman's individual needs. Riviera are committed to building a trusting and supportive relationship with women and their families during pregnancy.

The Team of Midwives provide care throughout pregnancy. They are able to care for the majority of women during labour when birth is planned for home, Torbay Hospital and Newton Abbot Hospital. This care continues with home visits in the early days following the birth of the baby and access to telephone support until the baby is one month old.

Maternity Care Assistants are able to offer additional support with parenting and infant feeding.
