Continence Advisory Service

This is a comprehensive service, including teaching and training in the NHS and private sector, research and trial of products, home visiting and continence clinic sessions for people with incontinence problems run by a qualified specialist nurse. It offers:
- Assessment of incontinence problems
- Management of both faecal and urinary incontinence
- Selection of appropriate incontinence aids
- Pelvic floor education and use of pelvic cones
- Cystitis counselling
- Advice on enuresis and encopresis
- Pre and post prostatectomy advice
- Teaching intermittent self-catheterisation
- Catheter care advice
- Flow rate service
- Bladder scanning for prostatism
Clinics are held at Newton Abbot Hospital (Tuesday am, Thursday am and pm); Brixham, Dartmouth, Dawlish, Paignton, Teignmouth, Torquay (Castle Circus), Totnes.
