This is a comprehensive service, including teaching and training in the NHS and private sector, research and trial of products, home visiting and continence clinic sessions for people with incontinence problems run by a qualified specialist nurse. It offers:

• Assessment of incontinence problems
• Management of both faecal and urinary incontinence
• Selection of appropriate incontinence aids
• Pelvic floor education and use of pelvic cones
• Cystitis counselling
• Advice on enuresis and encopresis
• Pre and post prostatectomy advice
• Teaching intermittent self-catheterisation
• Catheter care advice
• Flow rate service
• Bladder scanning for prostatism

Clinics are held at Newton Abbot Hospital (Tuesday am, Thursday am and pm); Brixham, Dartmouth, Dawlish, Paignton, Teignmouth, Torquay (Castle Circus), Totnes.
